Foucault Knife-edge Tester

Product Model:XQ-FK 100

This instrument adopts high-power warm white LED, which innovates the traditional white light source scheme based on incandescent bulbs. It eliminates drawbacks including uneven filament imaging, excessive operating temperature and short service life. Furthermore, a sodium light source is available as an optional accessory. It can eliminate chromatic aberration during the inspection of transmissive optical systems and aspheric lenses, improving detection accuracy and expanding the scope of applicable workpieces. The equipment is also equipped with a precision adjustment stage to enhance alignment stability and operational convenience, ensuring accurate readings.

  • Purpose
  • Technical Parameters
  • The XQ-FK100-GI knife-edge tester is designed based on the Foucault shadowing principle as a high-precision optical inspection instrument, capable of accurately measuring subtle wavefront error variations ranging from λ/20 to λ/100.
Its measurement accuracy is relatively dependent on the operator’s experience, so it is widely deployed in optical laboratories and production workshops to evaluate aberrations of optical systems and components, including spherical aberration, coma and astigmatism.
In addition, this instrument is applicable to the inspection of various surface profiles such as flats, quadric surfaces and high-order aspheres. It can also measure the radius of curvature of optical spherical templates with large radii, and detect defects inside optical glass, such as stria uniformity and bubbles.
As a vital tool for inspection and alignment, this knife-edge tester serves as an indispensable precision testing device for research institutes, universities, optical instrument manufacturers and optical component processing factories.
